Yu Ming is pleased to welcome two new members to our Board of Directors: Margarita Florez Vasconcelos and Yiaway Yeh.
Margarita Florez Vasconcelos is a Senior Director at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative leading CZI’s work to advance inclusive and participatory design across education technology and philanthropy. Prior to joining CZI, Margarita supported district, independent and charter schools to launch and redesign their models. She has served as a founding principal of a National Blue Ribbon school, school system administrator, and elementary teacher in East LA and Oakland.
Yiaway Yeh leads the global Social Impact Civics Partnerships team for Google. Previously, he was a public finance banker with Morgan Stanley raising capital for nonprofit and children’s hospitals. Yiaway has a long commitment to public service, having served as Palo Alto Mayor and Councilmember, Co-Chief Innovation Officer in the Nashville Mayor’s Office, and led the City of Oakland’s internal performance audit team for Oakland’s elected City Auditor.
